Larson said that the board intends to hire an interim chancellor in the next few weeks to serve through June 2015, or until a permanent chancellor is named. Until that time, Donna Dare, Ph.D., vice chancellor for academic and student affairs, will serve as acting chancellor.

Dare joined STLCC in 2005 as director of career and technical education, and was appointed vice chancellor for academic and student affairs in 2009.  She has taught at Richland Community College, Southern Illinois University-Carbondale and Millikin University.
