Closing Procedures & Notifications

In the event of a weather, safety, or facility emergency, St. Louis Community College may close or issue a delayed opening to ensure the safety of its students, employees, and patrons. Please reference the statements below.


Means all classes are canceled for the day. No classes or labs, library, student center, writing center, or any other service will be open. Classes in the evening also are canceled. This includes STLCC classes affiliated with the Corporate College and Continuing Education.


If a delayed schedule is announced, the location will delay opening until 9:30 a.m. Classes beginning before 9:30 a.m. will be canceled for that day.

In the absence of any announcement, students should assume the college is operating on its normal schedule.

Emergency and Closing Notifications

St. Louis Community College has a variety of tools and applications to notify students, employees, and the community in the time of emergency events or closings. Please familiarize yourself with these emergency platforms.

STLCC Alerts
STLCC Alerts is a comprehensive notification system which all St. Louis Community College locations use to broadcast important information such as campus emergencies, closures, delays, cancellations, and more via email, text, and text to voice messaging. This system is powered by Regroup, a mass notification platform.

All STLCC employees and credit students will automatically be set up to receive STLCC Alerts. Parents and community members can also sign up.

Website Notifications
Information concerning closing and emergency events will be posted on the home page of the STLCC website.

Social Media
Announcements will be placed on the Facebook and Twitter accounts for the college.

Local Media
St. Louis Community College will remain open except under very severe weather conditions. Official announcements will be broadcast on KMOX-AM (1120) Radio, and television Channels 2, 4 and 5. On television, announcements are broadcast as early as possible at the bottom of the screen. Additional local weather information is available through the National Weather Service Forecast for St. Louis.
