Gail Brown is the president of a family of companies consisting of Urban Planning and Development Corporation (UPDC), Brown-Kortkamp Realty and Brown-Kortkamp Moving and Storage.
In 1990, Gail joined the family business founded by her father in 1961. With the passing of the baton in 1995, Gail now leads a progressive team of real estate professionals providing traditional housing sales, development, land acquisition and relocation services. Under her leadership, UPDC has acquired over 2,000 parcels on behalf of clients for public and private developments. Brown-Kortkamp Realty currently markets new construction, existing housing and government and bank owned properties for several federal and private entities.
The company's newest entity GABR Development, doing business as BK Development, over the last several years developed new construction and rehabbed properties in St. Louis city. Under Gail's leadership, BK Development also has partnered with the Affordable Housing Commission to rehab properties in North St. Louis city as part of the BK REACH, Brown-Kortkamp Restoring Economical and Accessible City Housing project.
Gail received a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Business Administration in Economics and Business from Macalester College. In the community, she serves on the YWCA and Jefferson National Parks Association (JNPA) boards. Professionally Gail serves as a board member of the St. Louis Association of REALTORS®, is Immediate Past President of the St. Louis Association of Real Estate Professionals (SLAREP) as well as a state director for the Missouri Association of REALTORS®.
