Artful Saturdays

Enjoy four Saturday mornings virtually exploring topics in art history. Led by art historian Betsy Solomon, experience a specific theme each weekend: 10/3, Early Renaissance: Donatello and Masaccio; 10/10, Baroque Light and Drama: Artemisia Gentileschi and Gian Lorenzo Bernini; 10/17, Auguste Rodin: First Modern Sculptor; and 10/24, Two African American Painters: Henry Tanner and Romare Bearden.

Drawing: Beginning/Intermediate

Beginning students learn the tools, materials, and visual and artistic perception essential to drawing as returning students continue to sharpen skills through class projects or independent work. Drawing fundamentals such as line, perspective, value and composition are covered. Students will use pencil, conté crayon and charcoal. Supply list will be sent.

Botanical Illustration: Colored Pencils

In this colored pencil course focused on the plant kingdom as subject matter, learn about antique styles and finding inspiration to create contemporary pieces using modern methods. Watercolor: Beginning Techniques
