STLCC Biotech Students Compete at 39 North Trivia Night

On September 25, a team of six STLCC biotechnology students represented the College at the 39 North AgTech Innovation District Trivia Night, an event designed to connect students with agtech and biotech professionals across the St. Louis region.
The STLCC biotech program team—Julia Balagot, Ranjit Baruwal, Jules Schrader, Margaret Gebken, Sam Komlosy, Daci Madescu and faculty member Dr. James Rauschendorfer—demonstrated impressive knowledge and teamwork. Their efforts earned them 3rd place out of nine competing teams, along with 39 North T-shirts as prizes.
In addition, Center for Plant and Life Sciences (CPLS) staff members Betsy Boedeker, Kavita Chechani, Robert Nunnally, Laura Moore and Beth Elam Michaud formed a separate trivia team, helping strengthen STLCC’s presence at the event and supporting student engagement in the local biotech community.

Strengthening STLCC’s Biotech Connections
The trivia night showcased STLCC’s growing role in the region’s innovation ecosystem. By participating, students gained valuable networking experience with local leaders while representing the strength of STLCC’s biotechnology program.
