St. Louis Community College will host Emergency Management Forums on Tuesday, April 22, to help students, staff and faculty prepare for emergencies that could impact the College. The forums are designed to increase awareness, build confidence and ensure the campus community understands STLCC’s emergency plans and response expectations.
Forum Times and Locations
STLCC–Florissant Valley, Science and Mathematics, Room 203 | 10 to 11 a.m.
STLCC–Meramec, Lecture Hall, Room 103 | 2 to 3 p.m.
The sessions will cover basic emergency preparedness for hazards most likely to be encountered at STLCC, including severe weather, fire incidents and active shooter situations. Participants will learn practical response steps and strategies, how the College communicates during emergencies, and the roles and responsibilities of students and employees in the event of an incident.
“Our goal is to ensure everyone feels prepared to respond calmly and effectively in an emergency,” said Cpt. Ben Tally, interim STLCC public safety director. “Preparedness is a shared responsibility, and informed individuals help create a safer campus for all.”
The Emergency Management Forums are open to students, faculty and staff, and no prior training is required.
Attendees are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to gain valuable knowledge, ask questions and better understand how STLCC works to keep its community safe.
