Getting Started
To start using the fitness center facilities at St. Louis Community College, you will need to complete the Fitness Center Orientation and Safety course. The course will cover the rules of use, general instructions on exercise equipment, basic information to assist with your fitness goals and points of contact for additional information.

The Forest Park facility includes two separate workout areas – fitness and free-weights. The fitness room offers a full-body strength circuit from Matrix and a complete line of cardio (treadmills, ellipticals, recumbent and upright bikes, and stairstepper). The free-weight room provides Hammer Strength equipment.

The Meramec fitness center is perfect for all of your fitness goals providing a full-body Cybex circuit, dual-adjustable pulley machine, four-station functional training studio, multi-station cable unit, group training suspension bays, four squat-racks, dumbbells and barbells up to 100lbs and a full line of cardio equipment.
Fitness Centers FAQs
We do not currently have a fitness center at the Wildwood campus. However, you may obtain a YMCA pass at a discount. The benefit of a YMCA pass includes a greater range of available hours and days to train. Wildwood employees and students are welcome to use the fitness centers on the other campuses.
The campus fitness centers are only available for use by currently enrolled students and employees.
A pool is available on the Forest Park campus only. Available hours are dependent on lifeguard availability.
Swimmers are required to 'Check-in' in the fitness center prior to using the pool.
Personal training is not available at the STLCC fitness centers. Interested individuals may enroll in Health and Wellness activity courses (e.g., HW 115 Basic Fitness I)
Yes. Full-time employee enrolled in a STLCC medical insurance plan are eligible to use the STLCC fitness centers for Navigate points. Receive 27,500 annual points for working out!
The Gym Check-in amount is equivalent to $275.

Safety and Orientation Training FAQs
The orientation training takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.
Yes. Times are available each week for you to complete the orientation training in-person. Please contact the fitness center coordinator on your campus for more information.
The use of the campus fitness centers is available to all STLCC employees and currently enrolled students. To ensure a safe, clean and appropriate environment for all participants, the following rules must be followed while in and around the facility.
- Non-STLCC guests, friends and/or family members are prohibited from using the facilities.
- You may only use the equipment during designated open hours, and you must ‘Check-in’ as you enter the fitness center.
- Prior to/or on your first visit, you must complete the Assumption of Risk and Liability Waiver (the “Waiver”) and register with the health and wellness department.
- All participants must wear appropriate attire while using the equipment.
a. Appropriate attire includes non-restrictive clothing that allows the body full range of motion and closed-toed shoes (examples include but are not limited to: sweatpants, t-shirts, tennis shoes and cross-trainers).
b. Inappropriate attire is clothing that increases the risk of injury to the participant or damage to the equipment. Open-toed shoes or sandals are not permitted. Further examples include but are not limited to open-backed shoes, high heels, skirts or dresses, pants, belts or sharp buttons. - Use equipment only as designed. Participants may be liable for damage to equipment or the facilities. If you have any questions on how to use the equipment, contact the fitness center coordinator.
- Equipment must be cleaned and properly stored after each use.
- Keep fitness areas clear. Gym bags, backpacks, purses and other personal items are prohibited in fitness areas. Items must be stored in lockers or designated storage areas. STLCC is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged property.
- Food is not permitted in the fitness centers. All drinks, including water, must be in a sealed container.
- Keep all areas clean. Dispose of trash; avoid using chewing gum and avoid drinking beverages that may stain.
- Personal music devices need to be equipped with headphones. Personal music/videos should only be heard by the individual who owns the device.
- Refrain from actions deemed universally inappropriate in a professional setting, including but not limited to the use of profanity, horseplay, verbal abuse, physical abuse, etc.
- All students and employees must abide by the College’s Civility Policy (B.14) at all times.
- Participants with a contagious illness (e.g., cold, flu) should not use the fitness center.
- Participants are prohibited from providing dedicated instruction on exercise techniques, equipment use and equipment adjustments. In other words, personal training is not allowed.
The College reserves the right to amend these rules at any time without notice. Failure to abide by the listed rules can result in a forfeiture of privileges to use the fitness centers.
The use of exercise equipment poses certain health risks; seek professional guidance before utilizing the equipment. If you feel pain, faint, dizzy or ill prior to or during any activity, do not continue. Stop exercising immediately and request assistance if needed.
Any participant who sustains an injury while using the fitness centers should report the injury to campus police (314-539-5999).
Please report any broken, damaged or malfunctioning equipment to the fitness center coordinator or facility supervisor.
In an emergency, contact 9-1-1, campus police, and/or use the nearest AED.
