Dine & Donate Event Raises Funds for Jamie Schmidt Family

Jamie Schmidt, secretarial assistant in the associate provost’s office at St. Louis Community College-Wildwood, tragically lost her life Nov. 19 during a shooting at Catholic Supply in west St. Louis County.

In an effort to bring the community together to raise money for her family, STLCC-Wildwood organized a Dine & Donate fundraiser on Dec. 10 at Big Chief Roadhouse and Wildwood Pub & Grill.

Proceeds raised through this event totaled $5,910.33. These funds will directly benefit the Schmidt family.

Nearly half of the funds that were raised came from individual diners at the restaurants. Big Chief Roadhouse and Wildwood Pub & Grill donated $2,115. In addition, the Lions Club and the Wildwood Business Association collectively gave $1,100 to support the Schmidt family.

“Our sincere thanks to everyone who attended the Dine & Donate fundraiser and gave money to support this cause,” said Steven G. Collins, Ph.D., interim associate provost at STLCC-Wildwood. “In this time of grief, it’s heartwarming to see the outpouring of support shown by our campus and community.”
