Dine & Donate Fundraiser to Benefit Family of Jamie Schmidt

Jaime Schmidt fundraising event

Jamie Schmidt, secretarial assistant in the associate provost's office at St. Louis Community College-Wildwood, tragically lost her life Nov. 19 during a shooting at the Catholic Supply Store in West St. Louis County. A wife, mother and friend to many, Schmidt was also an alum of the Meramec campus.

In an effort to honor her legacy and help support her family during this difficult time, STLCC-Wildwood has organized a Dine & Donate fundraiser set for Monday, Dec. 10 from 4-10 p.m. at two local restaurants -- Big Chief Roadhouse, 17352 Manchester Road, and Wildwood Pub & Grill, 17253 New College Avenue. All profits raised from food and beverage purchases during this event will directly benefit the Schmidt family.

“While no amount of money can ever change what happened, we want to do what we can to support Jamie’s family during this time of need,” said Steven G. Collins, Ph.D., interim associate provost at STLCC-Wildwood. “Jamie was a well-respected member of our staff, and this fundraiser is a way for us to bring the community together to celebrate her life.”

All members of the College and community are invited to attend.

The Dine & Donate fundraiser is sponsored by STLCC-Wildwood, Big Chief Roadhouse and Wildwood Pub & Grill. A number of community groups are also supporting the event, including the City of Wildwood, Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce, Eureka Chamber of Commerce, Fenton Area Chamber of Commerce, Pacific Area Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club of West St. Louis County, Wildwood Area Lions Club, Wildwood Business Association and West St. Louis County Chamber of Commerce.

Aside from the Dine & Donate fundraiser, contributions to support the Schmidt family can be made via their GoFundMe page: https://www.gofundme.com/6fzdcc8.
