Varsity Art XXV logoThe works of 44 student artists, including eight from St. Louis Community College, will be on display as part of Varsity Art XXV that runs March 5-April 1 at Art Saint Louis Gallery, 1223 Pine Street.

This year’s exhibit presents original artwork by undergraduate- and graduate-level art students who represent 22 regional colleges and universities in Missouri and Illinois. It is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-3 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. It is closed on Sunday and major holidays.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, there is no reception being held for this exhibit. Guest limit is 10; mask and social distancing required.

STLCC students whose works were selected for the exhibit are Henry Behlmann  and Celia Friedrich of Florissant Valley; Emma Connell  and Deidre Gallagher of Forest Park; Natalie Rolwes and Zaria Voss of Meramec; and Leslie Randle and Jacob Schott of Wildwood.

This multi-media exhibit features artworks in a variety of media including ceramics, digital imaging, drawing, graphic design, mixed media, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and video/time-based media.

Varsity Art XXV also will be presented in a virtual gallery on the Art Saint Louis’ website beginning March 5.

Another feature to this exhibit is that one artist's work will be selected to receive an Award of Excellence as an outstanding artwork in the exhibition. That artist will then be eligible to submit artwork for the “Honor Awards 2023” curated exhibition, a special show only open to artists who receive Awards of Excellence in Art Saint Louis juried exhibits during 2021.
