Campus forums bring the community up to date on STLCC Transformed

Jeff L. Pittman, Ph.D., chancellor, STLCC, leading an STLCC Transformed community session at Florissant Valley.

In 2021, St. Louis Community College ran a successful campaign to pass Proposition R, a tax levy increase to fund major upgrades in facilities and academic programming. The College, which had not had a successful tax levy increase since 1984, assembled a solid and wide-ranging team of educators, business leaders and community volunteers to drive community support and success at the ballot box.

The success of Proposition R led to STLCC Transformed, the ongoing initiative that moves the College into a more modern standing in providing facilities and programming for the growth and competitiveness of our region.

To keep internal and external audiences informed, the College is currently hosting community forums to share new details on planning, programming, building and funding. Recently, STLCC students, faculty, staff, community members and elected officials were able to hear from Jeff L. Pittman, Ph.D., chancellor, and Hart Nelson, chief operating officer, on the latest updates, view renderings and ask questions at community sessions held at Florissant Valley and Forest Park campuses.
