Skype for Business has replaced Lync.
NOTE! The College will switch to using only Microsoft Teams as of January 2021, as Microsoft will terminate the Skype for Business Online service. Please begin using Teams for meetings and chat now to become familiar with it. Skype for Business will remain an option through Fall 2020, but the two services work independently.
Skype for Business is the instant messaging software developed by Microsoft as part of the Microsoft Office 365 Services. Skype for Business is an easy-to-use interface that allows individuals to communicate through text chat, voice calls, video calls and online meetings. You can use Skype for Business from nearly any computer or mobile device, on campus or anywhere in the world you have Internet access.
Skype for Business has replaced Lync.
Audio Conferencing is an add-on feature to Skype for Business account which allows attendees to join an online meeting by dialing in. This feature is only available for College employees that are assigned A5 license.
Audio conferencing PINs are used by meeting organizers to identify themselves that they are the meeting organizer and start a meeting by dialing in rather than joining by computer or mobile app.
