Mindful Matter: Building Resilience in Times of Change

Resilience isn’t a personality trait, it’s a set of constructs that protect you from the negative effects of stressors. Interestingly, resilience can change and develop over time, and it’s shaped by your interactions with others and situations you experience. This is why it’s important not to only concentrate on what you can do on your own to enhance your resilience, but also consider how the environment around you impacts your resilience levels. Resilience can be built and if we are proactive, we can spend our energy wisely and reduce the energy deficit and increase our chances to bounce back. We can also train that resiliency muscle. The more you exercise – the stronger you get. What are some things in your life you cannot control? What can you learn from the uncertainty you are facing now?

Supporting Victims of Human Trafficking

Missouri is ranked number four in the nation for human trafficking cases. According to the National Human Trafficking Hotline in 2021, Missouri alone had 102 minors identified as trafficking victims, as well as 129 adult survivors. We know that human trafficking is highly under reported, and we assume many victims of trafficking are going unnoticed. Join the Missouri Coalition Against Trafficking and Exploitation (MoCATE) and learn about human trafficking basics and survivor identification basics.

Personal Growth
