Voters in St. Louis Community College Subdistrict 1 and Subdistrict 4 selected trustees to represent residents on the College’s Board of Trustees.
Incumbent Kevin Martin, EdD was reelected as the trustee representing Subdistrict 1. He defeated challengers Theodis Brown Sr. and Clem Smith. Martin, who currently serves as a middle school principal in the Parkway School District, was first elected to the STLCC Board of Trustees in 2017.
For Subdistrict 4, Patrick McKelvey received the most votes, edging out candidates Fielding Poe and Deborah Bush-Munson. McKelvey, who is the executive director of the Gateway Food Pantry in Arnold, Mo., also has experience in higher education as an adjunct instructor with Jefferson College, University of Memphis, and Maryville University. McKelvey is replacing Mary Luebke, who did not seek reelection.
Both trustees will be sworn in at the April 30 public board meeting at STLCC Corporate College, 3221 McKelvey Road in Bridgeton. They will each serve a six-year term.
