Expanded Function Dental Assistant: Restorative I

This course will explain the techniques and concepts of restorative and preventative expanded function procedures delegated to dental assistants in the State of Missouri as specified in the rules and regulations set forth in the Missouri Practice Act. Prerequisites required at the time of registration: Certification as a certified dental assistant from the Dental Assisting National Board or proof of competence that the dental assistant has passed the Board's Missouri Test of Basic Dental Assisting Skills and evidence of current certification in the American Heart Association Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS). The student will be able to explain the rationale, principles and procedures and perform placing, carving and finishing Class I, V and VI restorations. The student must bring protective eyewear, examination gloves, face mask, and lab jacket for lab practice. Registration/withdrawal/refund deadline: 2/22.

Prerequisites required at the time of registration: Certification as a certified dental assistant from the Dental Assisting National Board or proof of competence that the dental assistant has passed the Board's Missouri Test of Basic Dental Assisting Skills and, evidence of current certification in American Heart Association Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS).
