Classes offered in-person may be rescheduled, canceled or transitioned to an online format based on COVID-19 guidelines. Students are required to follow COVID-19 guidelines for classroom participation, which includes, but is not limited to, use of masks and social distancing requirements.
Unless otherwise specified in the course description, registration for online classes closes three business days prior to the class start date.
Nitrous Oxide for Dental Assistants
The Nitrous Oxide for Dental Assistants course provides particpants with the training
and experience necessary to assist the dentist in monitoring nitrous oxide during
office procedures. This course satisfies Missouri Dental Board requirements. Following
the clinical competency, you are required to successfully pass a written examination,
which will be administered on Friday for students with a Certified Dental Assistant
(CDA) certificate and Saturday for those without a CDA. For more information, email
amiller457@stlcc.edu. Equipment needed: Students are required to bring a stethoscope and sphygmomanometer
(blood pressure cuff) to record blood pressure.

Expanded Function Dental Assistant-Restorative II
At course completion, you will be able to explain the rationale, principles and procedures
and perform placing, carving and finishing Class I, II, III, IV, V and VI restorations.
Learn the concepts and techniques of restorative and preventive expanded function
procedures delegated to dental assistants as set forth in the Missouri Practice Act.
For more information, please email amiller457@stlcc.edu. Pre-course e-learning is required and included in the course fee. You must bring
instruments (e.g. special carving, handpieces, and matrices), protective eyewear,
examination gloves, face mask and a lab jacket for lab practice. Registration/withdrawal/refund
deadline: March 6.
