Mentoring Opportunities

Benefits of Peer Mentoring
Mentees receive guidance and support from experienced peers who help navigate college life. This support boosts confidence, improves academic skills and connects students to a caring community.
Peer mentors earn a paid, flexible work-study position while gaining leadership and communication skills. They support new students, build confidence and expand their network by connecting with faculty and staff.
To become a peer mentor, applicants must complete the following:
- Submit an application and provide a letter of reference.
- Maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher and be an STLCC student for at least one year.
- Demonstrate leadership and communication skills, along with a strong desire to serve others.
- Fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Financial Aid (FAFSA) for work-study eligibility. STLCC's FAFSA code is 002469.
