No matter what class you’re taking, STLCC tutoring services are here to help you succeed. Through Navigate, students can schedule tutoring sessions in a wide range of subjects, including math, science, writing, reading, foreign languages and computer skills.
You can choose the learning style that works best for you:
- Drop-in tutoring: Visit any campus tutoring center for immediate help, no appointment needed.
- In-person appointments: Book a one-on-one session through Navigate for personalized attention.
- Online tutoring: Connect with a tutor from anywhere through Navigate, with scheduling options designed to fit your life.
Tutors provide course-specific help, reading comprehension strategies and writing guidance for assignments, essays and research projects. Support is available at every stage of the learning process, from understanding key concepts to preparing for exams.

Personalized Academic Support to Help You Succeed
St. Louis Community College provides free academic support and tutoring services to help students succeed in their courses and strengthen study skills. STLCC tutors and academic coaches offer guidance both on campus and online.
Students can drop in at any campus tutoring center or schedule one-on-one sessions through the Navigate app. For added flexibility, 24/7 online tutoring is available through the Tutor.com link in Canvas.

Get Fast Feedback on Your Essays
Submit your essay draft through our online portal to get feedback. If you send your essay by email, it might take up to 48 hours to get a response. The portal is closed on weekends, College holidays and inclement weather days.

How does tutoring benefit me?
STLCC tutoring is customized to each student’s needs and may cover study skills as well as content. Our academic coaches can help with note-taking skills, test preparation, and time management as well as subject matter specific to your STLCC courses.
Do I need an appointment for tutoring?
No, appointments are not required. You can drop in to campus locations during open hours. You can schedule an appointment in advance through Navigate. You will need to make an appointment for online tutoring in order to receive a link for an online meeting.
Is tutoring free for students?
Yes, tutoring is provided at no cost to students.
Can tutors help me prepare for the Accuplacer placement test?
Check out our College Prep program for help with the Accuplacer placement test.
If I’m not currently enrolled at STLCC, can I still use tutoring?
No, STLCC tutoring is for currently enrolled students only.
If I’m a dual-enrollment/dual-credit student, can I use tutoring services?
Yes, in person or online. We are here to help.

No, please contact your instructor and/or the campus testing center
What if I need help when the College is not open?
Tutor.com may be accessed 24/7 through the link in your Canvas course for free virtual tutoring assistance.
