Cost of Attending

With no hidden fees and transparent pricing, STLCC makes it easy to plan for your education without any surprises. Our technology ($11) and activity ($10) and service ($6) fees are built into the overall cost, so what you see is what you pay.

*Residents of St. Louis City, St. Louis County or portions of Franklin and Jefferson counties included in the Meramec Valley R-III and Rockwood R-6 school districts.

Online Rates

STLCC online courses cost $127 per credit hour for residents and $130 per hour for out-of-district, Midwest Student Exchange and out-of-state students.

High School Student Rates

High school students taking classes through dual enrollment, pay $77/credit hour. Dual credit classes are $25/credit hour.

Senior Rates

Residents of the College service area, age 60 years and older, receive a discounted rate of $63.50/credit hour + any additional course fees. Senior citizens, age 65 and older, can apply to audit classes for a discounted tuition rate of $20 with the Missouri Senior Scholarship.

Am I an eligible resident?

You’re eligible to enroll as a resident if you live in St. Louis City, St. Louis County or portions of Franklin and Jefferson counties included in the Meramec Valley R-III and Rockwood R-6 school districts.

Resident students include:

• Students under age 21 who live in the district with the parent or guardian who has legal custody or provides support.
• Emancipated students under age 21 who live in the district.
• Adult students who have established residence within the STLCC district.

Students with permanent resident visas are charged based on the applicable rates listed on this page.

If you live in Missouri but outside the STLCC district, you qualify for the other Missouri resident rate.

How do I prove my residency?

Proof of residency must be submitted before the semester begins. To make sure you are charged the lowest possible maintenance fee, provide your driver’s license and complete the name/address change form (PDF). Submit both the form and your proof of residency to enrollment services.

If you don’t have a Missouri driver’s license, you may provide one of the following:

• Personal property or real estate tax receipt.
• One-year lease in your name or the name of the parent or guardian you live with.
• Copy of federal tax return (Form 1040).

Do you offer special rates for students in the Midwest?

Yes. Through the Midwest Student Exchange Program (MSEP), legal residents of Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio and Wisconsin qualify for STLCC’s in-state tuition rate. Students continue to receive the MSEP rate as long as they maintain continuous enrollment.

New students can get started by completing the free online application. Eligible students are automatically assigned the in-state tuition rate based on residency.

When is tuition due?

All fees are due before the term begins and are listed on your online statement. If you register after the payment deadline, payment is due when you enroll.

STLCC accepts the following payment methods:

 

Can a third-party pay for my educational expenses?

Yes. STLCC accepts payment authorizations from external organizations other than scholarship providers.

Electronic authorizations may be sent to studentaccounts@stlcc.edu. 

The authorization must include:

• Student name and STLCC ID number.
• Semester and year covered.
• Charges covered, such as tuition, fees or books.
• Third-party contact name, address and phone number.
• Third-party payers must pay STLCC directly. Organizations that reimburse students directly aren’t eligible for third-party billing.

How long does it take for holds to be lifted from my account?

Once your balance is paid in full, holds will be lifted within one business day.

Do you offer financial aid?

Yes. STLCC offers grants, scholarships, work-study and loans to help students pay for college. Learn more about financial aid and enrollment services.

Can I withdraw and receive a refund?

You may be eligible for a refund depending on when you withdraw. Review the withdrawal process and refund deadlines before dropping a class.
