Juror's Statement
I'd like to firstly thank all of the participating artists for sharing and creating some truly great work! It is always a good feeling to see hard work and effort turn into fruition.
The fine arts shined through with technical flair and execution of anatomy, form, color, and draftsmanship. These works were truly excellent pieces of performance.
Exploring narrative through subject and technique; the photography students' work had this subtle mixing of softness and hardness combining alternative and traditional modes of capturing images.
Stealing the show for me was this year's ceramics work! These pieces excelled in not only form and technique but also showed a strong understanding and competency in drawing and painting on the clay surface. It seems like it's all coming together for this group.
I'm proud to be able to jury such an awesome show and you've made your professors proud. Thank you all so much and remember; art is subjective and objective, and art is art! Keep making and keep going!
