KCFV-FM
In 1972, a group of students petitioned the college to apply for a license from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to build a radio station to serve St. Louis Community College. Since April 1972, KCFV-FM has been continuously broadcasting on 89.5 FM at the Florissant Valley campus. In 2008, KCFV started streaming over the internet, and in 2014 began broadcasting 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. KCFV is a learning lab completely run by students who have taken Mass Communications classes at any of the STLCC campuses. If you are interested in learning the skills needed for a career in radio, television, journalism, public relations or advertising, call 314-513-4477 and ask about the Mass Communications Department at St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley.
