Education for Life Branding Campaign

In October 2018, the marketing and communications team began meetings with STLCC's creative agency to plan for a comprehensive branding campaign. After hundreds of hours invested by a team of 15, STLCC is proud to launch a new branding campaign, complete with videos and radio ads, to help tell our story.

Brand Story

Our brand story tells more than STLCC’s history. It provides context for how we see the world and what motivates us to make it better.

Since 1962, STLCC has held fast to the fundamental belief that education has the power to lift us up-as individuals, as communities and as a city.

Through a changing economy and sharp increases in the price of higher education, STLCC has provided opportunity for all, accepting students exactly as they are while inspiring them to be anything they can imagine.

More than one million students have experienced STLCC as launchpads to new and better careers, four-year degrees and richer lives. As they pursue their own potential, our students have empowered their communities and strengthened our city.

Our story is their story. It’s as rich and varied as our student body, a tale of triumph and setbacks, optimism and resilience. As we welcome each new class, we’ll continue to adapt and thrive, because we know one thing to be true: everyone deserves access to the life-changing influence of education.

Brand Voice

STLCC is accepting and inspiring. It welcomes students as they are, while guiding them to become the best possible versions of themselves.

The brand voices reflects warmth and inclusiveness. It is not pretentious or self-important. It’s approachable and aware, expressive and upbeat. STLCC does not exist on islands, requiring others to approach; it reaches out into the communities it inhabits as a neighbor would. It speaks with familiarity and understanding, while always encouraging everyone it touches to be their best selves.

Education for Life

The campaign tagline, “Education for Life” is used to distill our values and position us into a single phrase. It encapsulates all that STLCC offers its students and, by extension, the community at large. Education for real life, for your whole life.

The campaign tagline will be used in concert with, not in place of, the brand tagline, "Expanding Minds. Changing Lives." It also does not appear with the logo.

Education for Life Launch

Beginning February 2020, the new STLCC branding campaign, "Education for Life", will run in the St. Louis market. The media buy will include broadcast radio, broadcast and cable television and online videos.

Anthem Videos

The cornerstone piece of the Education for Life branding campaign is an anthem video. This video is designed to inspire, create excitement and tell our story. The video is uplifting and shows the many faces of our students and the substantial impact STLCC has had on more than 1.2 million lives. The full length video can be shared with a variety of audiences including potential students, alumni, business leaders and influencers and the community. This video is intended to tell our story from a very high level and to interest the viewer to learn more. The video is a perfect introductory piece in a PowerPoint, a presentation or even a one-on-one meeting.

In addition, the anthem video has a :30 second version for television and online preroll videos and will be used for such purposes only.
