Meramec Montage Wins National Award for Excellence in Student JournalismPage Title

The Montage, St. Louis Community College-Meramec’s student newspaper, has added yet another award to its long list of accomplishments.

At the recent National College Media Convention in Louisville, Ky., the Montage won eighth place in the Best of Show competition in the Feature Magazine category for its Summer 2018 Back-to-School Guide.

The Montage competed against other two- and four-year schools from across the country, and was the only two-year college newspaper recognized in the Feature Magazine category. Entries in the competition were judged for general excellence by esteemed members of the Associated Collegiate Press and College Media Association, the sponsors of the convention.

The Montage has consistently won awards for excellence in student journalism at the state and national levels for many years. Recent awards include national recognition from the Society of Professional Journalists with a Mark of Excellence Award, and the 2009 and 2014 Pacemaker awards from the Associated Collegiate Press.
