Montage Named Best Overall Two-Year College Newspaper by MCMA

The Montage, the student newspaper at St. Louis Community College-Meramec, was recently recognized as the Best Overall Two-Year College Newspaper at the Missouri College Media Association’s annual convention and awards ceremony.

The Montage earned first place as the Best Overall Newspaper in the two-year college division; first place in the Sweepstakes category, which recognizes the most wins in Division 4; and first place for the Back-to-School Magazine. In addition, staff and individuals also captured 29 awards.

The Montage staff competed against several other two-year school newspapers from across the state including newspapers from the STLCC-Forest Park and the STLCC-Florissant Valley campuses. Entries in the competition were judged for general excellence by members of the Missouri Press Association.

The Montage has been named Best Overall Newspaper 12 times and captured the Sweepstakes Award 13 times

The Montage has consistently won awards for excellence in student journalism at the state and national levels for many years. Recent awards include national recognition from the Society of Professional Journalists with a Mark of Excellence Award and a Pacemaker Award from the Associated Collegiate Press.
