Summer classes at St. Louis Community College? Sure, Take One on Us

St. Louis Community College is offering an opportunity to take summer classes and receive a scholarship to cover the tuition cost of one class.

“Although classes look a little different because STLCC transitioned to online instruction due to concerns of COVID-19, we will continue encouraging students to pursue their educational goals,” said Dr. Christine Davis, vice chancellor of student affairs.

“We started developing the concept of Take One on Us early this year. As the situation with the coronavirus evolves, we still want to provide some consistency and structure for our students to achieve, even in times that feel very different from what we’re used to.”

Take One on Us

Whether a student takes classes toward graduation, or to transfer to a four-year college or university or enhance their career, Take One on Us is available to eligible students. The scholarship covers three-credit hours at the current in-district tuition rate of $113.50 per credit hour.

During summer 2020, students who are new and seeking a degree should apply for admission, then register for at least one class to be eligible for a scholarship for three-credit hours at STLCC.

Returning or continuing degree-seeking students must register for nine credit hours in summer 2020 to be eligible to receive a scholarship for three-credit hours.

Students who are out-of-district but are new to STLCC or are returning may receive the scholarship for up to three-credit hours at the in-district rate. Students will be responsible for the difference in tuition.

Students who are eligible for the Missouri A+ program and take six-credit hours in summer 2020 will not receive the Take One on Us scholarship.

Registration for summer classes is available online now. Summer session starts May 19; late start summer classes begin June 8.
