The general fine arts program at St. Louis Community College gives students a strong foundation in artistic techniques, theory and creative problem-solving. This program also prepares you to transfer to four-year colleges or universities and pursue a bachelor’s degree in art, design or other creative fields, giving you the skills and experience to continue building your artistic career.

STLCC's general fine arts program gives students a well-rounded education in both traditional and modern artistic techniques. You’ll build core skills through courses in:

What Can You Do with an Associate of Fine Arts Degree in General Fine Arts?
The general fine arts program at STLCC gives you a strong foundation for the first two years of a four-year art degree. Completing the associate of fine arts (AFA) degree helps you transfer smoothly to a bachelor’s program in an art-related field.
Through this program, you’ll build technical skills in multiple artistic disciplines, develop your creative process and gain hands-on experience in both traditional and modern art forms. It’s designed to help you grow as an artist, explore different mediums and prepare for further study or creative pursuits.
