Improve human health through biomedicine.

Designed for individuals currently employed in the biotechnology field, this new program is a professional development course focused on understanding the principles and practices of bioprocessing and biomanufacturing.

This 5-week, interactive course, is designed to prepare industry employees with knowledge of methodologies needed to develop and manufacture biological products. Topics include:

  • Upstream bioprocessing
  • Downstream processing
  • Good manufacturing practices (GMP)
  • Lab equipment like chromatography columns and bioreactors
  • Functional roles in the company

By the end of the training, participants will be able to:

  • Explain key concepts used in the development, processing and manufacturing of biological products
  • Apply foundational concepts to their own work
  • Develop increased confidence in performing work duties

Class schedules subject to change.

Classes offered in-person may be rescheduled, canceled or transitioned to an online format based on COVID-19 guidelines. Students are required to follow COVID-19 guidelines for classroom participation, which may include, but is not limited to, use of masks and social distancing requirements. 5 weeks | 1 day per week from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
