14 week, non-credit training providing hands-on instruction in Industrial Maintenance topics including: Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Mechanical Systems, Electrical Systems, and Programmable Logic Controllers.
Industrial maintenance technicians repair and maintain commercial or industrial machinery in buildings and in a plant or factory setting, to ensure the machines' proper functionality.
The Industrial Maintenance Training w/ PLCs program prepares participants for entry level jobs in the industrial maintenance industry. Graduates of the IMT program will be able to maintain, calibrate and troubleshoot equipment most commonly used in hi-tech manufacturing facilities while adhering to safety, health and environmental rules and regulations. Students will be ready to earn nationally recognized National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) credentials for Industrial Maintenance Technicians.
This program covers: Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Mechanical Systems, Electrical Systems, and Programmable Logic Controllers.
Cost of Program
The costs of instruction and materials for this program are entirely grant funded.
This program is 14 weeks. It requires 30 hours a week of on-line training completed remotely for the first 12 weeks. Followed by 2 weeks of in-class hands-on experience.
We are currently scheduling one class at a time. The first class is scheduled to begin June 22, 2020.
Requirements for Acceptance
- Must complete/attend on-line informational session.
- Must submit required application and paperwork.
- High school diploma or GED.
Once we are able to get back into the classroom:
- Must complete WorkKeys Assessments.
- Must successfully complete OSHA 10 General Safety Training.
