Aquatics

Attention Water Students: Due to circumstances related to inclement weather, building and/or equipment malfunctioning or maintenance, the pool facilities used by Continuing Education may have to be closed with little or no advance notice. In these cases, no refunds will be offered, nor will make-ups be available because of tight scheduling of swimming, water exercise and other physical education classes. Family Swim

Swimming Skills: Beginning/Intermediate

PADI Open Water Scuba Diving

Be on your way to become a PADI Open Water Scuba Diver! There are three steps to earning a scuba certification. (1) Knowledge development (2) Skills in a swimming pool and (3) Diving in an open water environment. This course provides you with the classroom (1) and pool work (2). Students will receive valuable information regarding locations to schedule their open water dives in order to complete certification at an additional fee. Prerequisites: Good health, reasonable fitness and comfort in the water. You may be required to get medical clearance from your doctor prior to participating in any water training.

FABS: For Over Forty, Abs, Balance and Strength

Are you over forty? Do you want tighter abs to help with balance? Do you loathe the thought of pumping iron in a gym but would still like to build muscle and increase strength? Then this FABSulous class is for YOU! As we age, our bellies tend to get bigger, our balance becomes a bit off kilter and our muscles start to sag (especially the back of those arms). Using various water equipment, FABS class will: tighten your tummy, improve your balance and build major muscle groups.

Zumba Toning

Cardio and Abs

A variety of exercises that get your heart pumping and fat burning. Kickboxing with Trampoline Fit

Total body high intensity workout consists of cardio drills using kick bags, gloves, hit pads and kick pads. Performing jabs, punches, hooks, upper cuts and kicks to burn fat and tone muscles. In the second half of class, be ready to jump like if you were a kid again, but only this time, losing inches, building strength and endurance. Personal 36" trampolines used to work lower body with low impact bounce moves which are fun, exhilarating and aerobically effective. Upper body moves are worked with the safety bar, so no fear of falling off the trampoline.

Boot Camp with Shark Fitness

Challenge yourself! Classes consist of resistance training, calisthenics, short runs, and drills designed to work every major muscle group in the 60-minute class. Learn the correct way to train in terms of form, tempo, and exercise selection. Despite the group setting, this class will challenge you individually to give your best and expect optimal results. Must be able to jog 300 yards without rest. Bring a towel or mat and water. Weather permitting, class will be held outside-dress appropriately. Senior Fitness

Get fit and increase your stability and flexibility. The class involves standing and sitting in a chair while using light weights (1 or 2 lbs), small balls, and stretch bands to enhance fitness with music to add to the fun. Stretch and Strengthen

This class focuses on developing and increasing the flexibility and strength required to execute various dance moves. In addition, flexibility training, core stability and muscular strength are areas covered in the class that are still beneficial for the non dancer as well. This class incorporates intense and deep stretches using every part of the body and will include exercises that strengthen core.

Barre Fitness

This class focuses on a full body workout. You will learn some classical ballet moves and stretches along with pilates inspired core exercises to take your fitness knowledge and capacity to the next level.
