Radiologic Technology Program Requirements Checklist
Student must have successfully completed all requirements listed below prior to applying to the radiologic technology program.
- Apply to STLCC as a degree-seeking student
- Send transcripts
- Official College Transcripts: An official transcript from each college attended must be sent directly from the college attended to STLCC-Registrar’s Office, 5600 Oakland Avenue, St. Louis, 63110 or email: csr@stlcc.edu. Hand carried or faxed transcripts will NOT be accepted.
- High School Transcripts or GED: Required only for students with fewer than 15 hours of college level work or those
who have satisfied the science requirements in high school. Current high school students
must submit a final high school transcript before applying to the radiologic technology
program.
- Minimum Cumulative GPA: Students must have and maintain a GPA of 2.5 (4.0 scale) for
all college work regardless of the number of college credits earned.
- GED Applicants: must have 15 hours of (100 level or higher) college credits with a 2.5 GPA.
- Minimum Cumulative Math and Science GPA: 2.5 (or higher on a 4.0 scale) for all math
and science courses completed at the 100-level or above.
- NOTE: Developmental courses (numbered below 100) will NOT be included in the GPA for admission to the program.
- Reading: Reading Proficiency – a 3 credit hour college level course with a grade of “C” or higher.
- Science Prerequisite to Apply: Complete ONE of the following with a grade of “C” or higher within the last 5 years.
- BIO 111 Introduction to Biology or higher or CHM 101 or higher
- Job Shadowing: Must provide documentation of a minimum of eight hours of job shadowing in a hospital based, general radiology (X-ray) department. Job shadowing form must be completed prior to application to the program.
- When the above criteria have been met, students must meet with an academic advisor to complete a separate radiologic technology program application. The academic advisor will submit the application and job shadowing document, in PDF format, to the program director.
