St. Louis Community College provides flexible learning options to accommodate diverse needs. Whether you prefer hands-on experiences, virtual learning or a mix, STLCC has the right option for you. Choose from:

  • On-campus: Traditional, face-to-face classes
  • Live virtual lectures: Real-time online classes
  • Remote/online: Learn from anywhere, at your own pace
  • Hybrid: Combination of online and in-person classes
  • HyFlex: Attend classes in any mode that fits your schedule

Getting started is easy—just choose the registration method that works best for you.
First-time STLCC students will register for classes during Archer Orientation

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Log in to Banner Self-Service.
  2. Select the "Student Services & Financial Aid" tab.
  3. Click on "Registration," then scroll down and select "Add or Drop Classes."
  4. Choose the correct Credit Term for your registration and click Submit.
  5. Find the classes you saved under "My List" and either copy and paste or manually enter the Course Reference Number (CRN) into the provided boxes.
  6. Click Submit Changes. If successful, “Web-Registered” will appear next to your courses. If you need help, contact your advisor.

  1. Click on the drop-down menu to choose the term you want to register for (example: Credit Spring 2025).
  2. Select the location(s) where you want to attend classes (example: Florissant Valley).
  3. Choose the subject you want to view (example: PSY for Psychology).
  4. Pick the course number and title you're interested in (example: PSY 200 – General Psychology).
  5. Select an option under "Courses Displayed" (example: Open Only).
  6. Scroll down and click Display Classes to see the available courses.

You can find the prerequisites for classes in our course catalog.

To satisfy a prequisite, you must have:

  • Completed or be currently enrolled in the prerequisite at STLCC.
  • Completed the prerequisite from another college and have had your transcripts officially evaluated at STLCC.
  • Submitted your Advanced Placement (AP) scores.

If you have not completed the above, but have proof of meeting a prerequisite, you can submit a request for a course override.

If a course is closed, you can join the waitlist by attempting to register for the course and selecting the "waitlist" option from the drop-down menu in the Add or Drop Classes section.

STLCC uses multiple measures to determine course placement for students. Please refer to our placement guides for more information and direction.

  1. Visit the interactive class schedule and choose a term and campus.
  2. Go to the "Advanced Search" section.
  3. Under "Characteristics," select one of the following:
    FREE: Free Course Materials/Books
    LOW: Low Cost Course Material/Books
  4. Click the "Display Classes" button.
  5. Browse the list of courses available.
  6. Register for the courses you want to take in Banner Self-Service.

Courses marked FREE offer required materials at no cost. Courses marked LOW have required materials that cost $40 or less.

Note: Course availability may vary by semester and campus location.
