A Statement from the Curators:

For centuries, artists have used the art of self-portrait to document and define their lives. In our own time, the self-portrait has taken on many different variations, embracing conceptual as well as visual approaches. The new solutions change from style, technique, technology and color unique to our time.

In this exhibition, we invite 14 other artists to join us in taking a fresh look at the art of self-portrait. The only direction we provided to them was to be creative and inventive in their self-portrait choices.

For more information about the artists, or to purchase any artwork listed for sale in the exhibit, contact Mark Weber, gallery coordinator, at mweber@stlcc.edu.
