Talir defeated opponent David Addison in the April 8 election. The board seat was formerly held by Anne Adams Marshall, whose term expired in 2025. Marshall did not run for re-election.

The election results are unofficial until certified by the St. Louis Board of Election Commissioners and the St. Louis County Election Board. The STLCC Board of Trustees will officially appoint Talir at the April meeting.

Previously, she worked as a financial director, an accounting manager and a contract/grant coordinator at Washington University in St. Louis. Talir has a bachelor’s degree in art history from the University of Missouri-Columbia and earned a graduate-level advanced certificate in non-profit management from Washington University in St. Louis. Talir lives in Kirkwood with her husband, Douglas, and four children, one of whom is a student at STLCC. She is a first-generation college graduate.

Subdistrict 3 includes southern and southwest portions of St. Louis City and the school districts of Maplewood, Mehlville, Richmond Heights, Kirkwood, Hancock Place, Affton, Bayless, Brentwood and Webster Groves.
The April 17 STLCC Board of Trustees meeting is slated to begin at 5 p.m. in room 219 at the Corporate College, 3221 McKelvey Road.
