Returning Students
Picking up your education doesn’t have to be complicated. As a returning student, STLCC gives you clear pathways to finish your degree.
Are You a Returning STLCC Student?
STLCC makes returning to college straightforward. Whether you want to finish your degree, advance your career or pursue a new passion, we’re here to help you seamlessly pick up where you left off.
You’re considered a returning student if you’ve previously taken classes at STLCC after completing high school. You do NOT need to reapply for admission if you have taken classes at STLCC within the past three semesters. Simply log into Archer Connect (formerly Banner Self-Service).
Submit a new application if it's been longer than the past three semesters since you took an STLCC course.
If you’re not planning to earn a certificate or degree from STLCC, apply as non degree seeking selected courses.

Simple Steps for Returning Students
If it’s been longer than three semesters since you last took classes, welcome back! We’ve streamlined the application process to make your re-entry as easy as possible with these 10 simple steps:
- Reapply to STLCC. If it’s been more than three semesters since you last attended STLCC, your first step is to complete our free online application for admission. Start your application or continue an existing application anytime.
- Reconnect to Your Account. You may need to recover your MySTLCC ID and student email address. This account is your gateway to Archer Connect, Canvas and your student email.
- Log in to Navigate. Use your MySTLCC email and password to log in. Navigate will keep you updated on important deadlines, events and activities.
- Submit Your Transcripts. Check your Archer Connect account to confirm we have your high school and/or college transcripts on file. If you’ve attended any other colleges since you were last at STLCC, please arrange for official transcripts to be sent to our registrar’s office. Unofficial transcripts can often be used for course placement while we await official copies.
- Apply for Financial Aid. Complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) if you haven’t already, using school code 002469. Then, submit any necessary financial aid documentation to STLCC for processing.
- Meet with a Student Success Advisor. They’ll assist you in planning the best path to reach your goals. Prepare for your advising session by browsing the course catalog and upcoming class schedule to explore your options. Confirm you’ve completed any prerequisite courses or have proper assessment scores on file.
- Register for Classes. Once you and your advisor have planned your semester, use your MySTLCC ID and password to log on to Archer Connect and register for your classes.
- Apply for Scholarships. We offer various scholarships, including some specifically for returning students and adults going back to college.
- Pay for Your Classes. After you’ve registered, you can pay for your classes in full via cash or check at the cashier’s office on campus, or online through Archer Connect. You can also explore flexible payment plans to spread out your tuition costs over time.
- Get Ready for the Semester! Now that you’re officially enrolled, it’s time to prepare. Get your STLCC OneCard, pick up your Metro U-Pass and buy your textbooks. Familiarize yourself with Canvas and regularly check your student email for important updates.
