The college hires part-time and/or temporary employees in various functions. Explore employment opportunities across the St. Louis region:

  • Faculty is comprised of full-time instructional faculty, counselors and instructional resource faculty. They are represented by the Junior College District National Education Association (NEA).
  • The Administrative group comprises administrators, such as the chancellor, vice chancellors, provosts, directors, academic deans and deans.
  • The Classified Office and Technical group comprise full-time office and technical support staff at all locations excluding confidential employees, supervisors, security officers and police officers. 
  • The Professional group comprises full-time professional managers, supervisors of professional employees or supervisors of classified office and technical unit.
  • The Physical Plant group is comprised of full-time physical plant employees. They are represented by the International Union of Operating Engineers – Local No. 2.

Retirement Plans and Financial Security

STLCC offers the following retirement plans to help employees plan for the future and build long-term financial security:

  • Public-School Retirement System (PSRS): Administrative, Faculty, and Professional Employees participation is required. Employees contribute 14.5% of their pre-tax total compensation which includes gross wages and employer-paid premiums for health, dental, vision, and HSA contributions. The College matches this 14.5% contribution. While enrolled in PSRS, employees do not pay into Social Security.
  • Non-certificated Employee Retirement Plan (NCERP): Classified and Physical Plant Employees participation is required. The current employee contribution is 4% of pre-tax income, with the College matching at 4%. Deductions are effective on the first day of the bi-weekly payroll period that begins after you have been an employee for 13 complete bi-weekly payroll periods (approximately 6 months).

Professional Development

Every employee at STLCC has access to Skillsoft. Each full time faculty member and department has a professional development budget for employees to take advange of trainings, webinars, conferences and more. The Center for Teaching and Learning supports and assists faculty in pursuit of innovation and excellence in teaching and learning by developing and delivering a robust, comprehensive program of professional development opportunities.

Development Day

Every fall, faculty and staff have a dedicated day to professional development, hosted by the College. It's a fun day to meet people in other departments.

Educational Programs

  • Tuition Waivers (classes offered at STLCC): All current and retired full-time employees of the College and certain immediate family members may attend courses offered by the College without payment of maintenance fees.
  • Tuition Reimbursement (external degree programs): All full-time Classified, Administrative, Professional, and Physical Plant employees at STLCC are eligible to apply for tuition reimbursement after completing six months of continuous full-time service.
  • University Partnerships: As a full-time or part-time employee of St. Louis Community College, you are eligible for the Lindenwood Educational GOLD Program, which includes a tuition discount and more! Employees receive a 20% discount off tuition for online and graduate programs.
  • Public School Loan Forgiveness Employer (PSLF) Eligible Employer: The PSLF Program forgives the remaining balance on your Direct Loans after you’ve made the equivalent of 120 qualifying monthly payments under an accepted repayment plan, and while working full-time for an eligible employer.
