Financial Help to Reach Your Goals

Even though St. Louis Community College is affordable, paying for college can still be hard. Scholarships can help make it easier.

There are two main types of scholarships at STLCC:

  1. Foundation Scholarships: These need an application. You can search for them online and apply after you've been registered for classes for 24 hours. Some have special rules and may only be for specific majors or campuses. Many are given based on your achievements.
  2. Board of Trustee Scholarships: These don’t need an application. If you qualify, you can get one on a first-come, first-served basis. Please see the eligibility requirements for these scholarships below.

There are many options, so take some time to look and find one that works for you.

Foundation Scholarships

Funds are made possible by donors to the St. Louis Community College Foundation. Major donor groups include friends of the College, faculty, staff, students, alumni, retired employees, board members, corporations and foundations. Their generosity helps hundreds of students who wouldn't otherwise be able to attend college.

Students can apply for scholarships through STLCC’s online scholarship application system from the beginning of May to the end of March. We also encourage students to seek information from local organizations and employers for information regarding external scholarships.

Applying for Foundation Scholarships

Students match with scholarships based on major, GPA, enrollment status and other qualifications. Prior to applying for scholarships online, students must:

  1. Complete and file your FAFSA
  2. Submit an online application to STLCC
  3. Activate MySTLCC username and password
  4. Register for classes

Once these steps are complete, students can log in to STLCC's online scholarship application using their MySTLCC username and password. Please wait 24 hours after registering for classes before logging in to apply for scholarships. These scholarships may have requirements (like specific majors or campuses) but there's likely one that fits your needs. Scholarships are awarded based on financial and tuition need.

All scholarships are specific to the semester you applied, whether it is fall, spring or summer.
