What is General STEM Transfer Studies at STLCC?

Through the general STEM transfer studies program, students complete 42 credit hours of elective courses in focus areas such as:

  • Biology
  • Computer science
  • Engineering
  • Mathematics

In addition to these 42 credit hours, students select 18 credit hours of general education to fulfill the requirements for the 60-credit hour associate in science degree.

Academic advisors on each campus help students select courses that align with their goals and assist with the transfer process to a four-year college or university.

Testimonials

"At STLCC, I had the opportunity to explore my interests, challenge myself, and discover my potential. While I never predicted I would be good at science and math, I gained confidence with each course I took. I started with remedial level math my first semester, yet I earned a master's degree in civil engineering seven years later. Anything is possible, and I'm an example of that." - Deanna Meyer, graduate

"STLCC provided the courses I needed to pursue my goal of earning a bachelor’s degree in engineering. The community and friendships I gained at STLCC are still strong today." - Diamond Cottman, graduate
