Earn Your General Education Requirements Online
CORE 42 is the general education framework that assigns a group of lower-division core curriculum course Missouri Transfer (MOTR) numbers and guarantees transferability to all public colleges and universities in Missouri. As the largest community college in the state, STLCC has a wide array of online CORE 42 classes.
Connect Live or on Your Own Time
The STLCC distance learning experience includes fully online courses that offer flexibility in how you participate and complete assignments. After the first day of class, most courses do not require set log-in times, allowing you to complete assignments at your convenience as long as you adhere to the syllabus deadlines.
Another option for online learning is our live virtual lecture courses. This format allows you to interact and experience real-time engagement with your instructor and classmates on set specific dates and times from the comfort of your preferred location.

Admission Requirements
All students pursuing online programs must meet the following requirements:
- Have a high school diploma or GED/HiSet
- Have completed the English, reading and math placement test or have a recent ACT/SAT score
Cost of Attendance

Out-of-State Students
As a member of the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA), St. Louis Community College has reciprocal agreements with most states to allow students living in those states to take courses online. For more information review our State Authorization information pages.
Online Readiness and Course Placement Test
STLCC has a few options to determine your readiness for college-level coursework, contact one of our testing centers for more information about student assessment and course placement.
Placement Testing at a Distance
Online students or students who cannot travel to one of our testing centers have two placement testing options: remote site testing (in-person testing at an approved Accuplacer location near you) or virtual online proctoring, which allows you to take a placement test just about anywhere - even at home. Contact one of the testing centers to assist you in setting up your test.
State Authorization
St. Louis Community College participates in the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements.
St. Louis Community College is an approved member of National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (NC-SARA), and therefore, is authorized to offer distance education courses and programs to residents in all 49 NC-SARA member states, as well as to residents of the District of Columbia, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
