Tuberculosis Forms

After Survey Completion

Updated If you answered yes to any question on the TB survey within your admissions application the following actions are required:

  1. Get a TB test to determine if you have been exposed to the disease. A simple TB skin test will tell if you have ever had TB germs in your body. The test is quick and easy, and does not hurt. See below for a listing of locations offering free to low-cost TB testing.
  2. Have your TB test results read by a medical professional and submit to STLCC. Within 48 to 72 hours after getting the skin test, you must return to the location that conducted your TB test have your results read.

Test results should include your STLCC ID # and be submitted to:

STLCC, Central Student Records
5600 Oakland Avenue
St. Louis, MO 63110

Tuberculosis - Frequently Asked Questions

Online Screening Survey FAQs

Q: What’s the difference between a TB screening survey and TB skin testing?

A: All degree-seeking students, faculty and staff are required to FIRST take the screening survey, which determines whether you are in a risk group for tuberculosis. If you answer “yes” answer to any question on the survey, you are required to be tested to rule out a diagnosis of tuberculosis.

Q: What happens to my student registration if I do not submit TB test documentation?

A: A registration hold will be placed on your student account for the following semester; the hold will not be released until the survey and any follow-up, if required, is completed.

Q: What is STLCC's policy for online students?

A: All degree-seeking STLCC students must complete the survey, including online students. Students enrolled entirely in online-only coursework may request a waiver for the required follow up. The waiver will be valid only for the current semester, and is contingent on the students enrollment in online classes only.

Q: Are dual credit and dual enrollment students required to take this survey?

A: No, only degree-seeking STLCC students must complete the survey.

Q: I can’t take a TB skin test for medical reasons. What do I need to do?

Q: I always show a false positive result when I take a TB skin test. What do I need to do?

A: If you have a false positive TB test, you will need to submit documentation from a medical provider that states you have been tested within the last 12 months and do not have TB. Students should submit documentation, including their STLCC ID #, via email to health@stlcc.edu or fax to 314-228-2152.
