IT Standards and Policies

Like any institution or business, STLCC, is always growing and changing. But there are some things we can work to maintain consistency on. Information Technology (IT) has developed computing hardware standards from desktop computers to laptops to software. By making purchases from these standards we are better able to support and assist you with these technologies. And you are better able to work in a variety of areas throughout the College because of these standards.

Computer Standards

Hardware Technical Specs:

  • 3 year warranty

Current desktop models include:

  • Dell 7070 Ultra Desktop
  • Apple Mac Mini

Current laptop models include:

  • Dell Latitude 5500
  • Apple MacBook Pro

Hardware Technical Specs:

  • 24" screen
  • 16:9 Aspect ratio
  • 1920x1080 at 60Hz resolution

Current monitor models include:

  • Dell 24 Conferencing Monitor P2418HZM
  • Dell 24 Standard Monitor P2419H

If you have a need for an item outside of the above standards, please reach out to the IT Help Desk to start a request. The functional manager of the area will reach out to discuss and find the most appropriate solution for the need.

IT Policies

The authority for writing Information Technology (IT) standards and guidelines, will reside with the Chief Information Officer (CIO), with input from IT directors, associate directors and managers, as necessary.

St. Louis Community College IT takes reasonable and prudent measures to comply with applicable federal, state and local laws with regards to securing information systems. It is imperative that IT standards and guidelines be followed to protect the College’s information systems.
