IT Security & Compliance

What We Do

We look after your information by securing the technology at St. Louis Community College. We work with students, faculty, and staff to create and implement effective protections for everyone.

We are required by law to protect your data. The United States Department of Education requires the College to implement protections outlined by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA). In certain circumstances, Missouri state law requires the College to notify you if your information is accessed by the wrong people. The technology and processes we put in place help us protect your information, and meet our obligations.

CAE2Y
The National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security have designated STLCC as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Two-Year Education (CAE2Y). This designation, with the support of the National Science Foundation and the National Cyberwatch Center, means the college has a robust cybersecurity program that meets the national training standards.
