Does transitioning to college have you feeling anxious? Shake the nerves by learning the behavior and skills to tackle a successful transition.
Start Smart
This two-class series offers an introduction to life as a college student. Whether you take one or both classes, you will feel more confident and the skills you learn will help you be successful at STLCC and beyond.
In these classes, you will engage in activities designed to increase knowledge, strategies and skills directly related to being a successful STLCC student. You also gain experience with technology used in many higher education settings. Any student is welcome to take either:
- STR:050 Smart Start: Student Success (3 credit hours)
This course is designed to enhance students' knowledge, behaviors and skills needed for successful transition to college.
- STR:100 Smart Start College Success (1 credit hour)
This course provides all students with opportunities to learn college success strategies in an active learning environment
Either of the Smart Start classes can be taken in the classroom, online or a combination of the two.
