Out-of-State Student & Consumer Complaints

St. Louis Community College is committed to providing a high-quality educational environment for its online learners. As such we work to be alert to the needs of our students by maintaining an environment in which your concerns are heard and addressed in a fair and prompt manner. Complaints regarding any aspect of STLCC operations should be filed internally first and then, if necessary, to the appropriate external authorities.

If your concern is related to a specific course, you should first attempt to resolve the concern by having a real-time conversation with your instructor (not email) to ensure clear communication.

If the instructor is not available, or reasonable efforts have been exhausted, reach out to Online Education for assistance in resolution and in connecting with the appropriate offices or academic leadership.

For formal complaints, which must be submitted in writing and follow the process outlined under Academic Rights and Responsibilities, you should review the information found on the website carefully, and complete the online complaint form as appropriate.

For more information on the NC-SARA student complaint process, visit the NC-SARA website.

Current or prospective students with a concern directly related to online education may contact the Online Education office directly for a prompt response.

In the unlikely event that a complaint cannot be resolved through STLCC’s processes, in-state students may seek resolution through the Department of Higher Education & Workforce Development and out-of-state students may file a complaint with their resident state licensing authority or US Territories Regulatory Agencies.
