TRIO Talent Search

TRIO Talent Search helps middle and high school students overcome barriers to higher education. We provide services to students in grades 6-12 who need assistance figuring out their path to college, being prepared to enter college, or getting college paid for.

If you join TRIO Talent Search, you’ll work with our team to increase your academic success, your personal confidence, and your understanding of the college-to-career pipeline, so that you can make the college and career choices that fit your personal goals.

You will need some information from your parent/guardian to complete the application. Once we review your application, our team will reach out to you.

Program Eligibility

We work with students who are currently in grades 6-12 at one of our partner schools:

  • Confluence Preparatory Academy
  • Confluence Old North Academy
  • Confluence South City Academy
  • Grand Center Arts Academy High School
  • Grand Center Arts Academy Middle School

To qualify for TRIO Talent Search, you must be a U.S citizen or eligible non-citizen and meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • your household meets federal income guidelines
  • you will be a first-generation college student (neither parent completed a 4-year college degree)
  • you have left middle or high school and re-enrolled
  • you need support to graduate high school academically prepared for college.

TRIO Talent Search Services

Set yourself up for success after high school by taking advantage of TRIO Talent Search services:

  • Academic Advising: Meet with our advisors in your school to choose classes and map out your plan for high school and beyond.
  • Tutoring: Get help with challenging courses such as math and English via in-person and online tutoring options.
  • Workshops: Learn about college options and career paths so you can make informed decisions, or attend workshops focused on life skills such as speaking up for yourself, stress management, and balancing priorities.
  • Field Trips: Visit college campuses, local businesses, and community sites like museums or festivals.
  • Mentoring: Work with a mentor to strengthen your sense of self, build relationships beyond your school, and shape your vision for your future.
  • Summer Bridge: Join us on campus at STLCC for three weeks of hands-on college/career readiness programming during summer break.
