STLCC Mobile App Support
The mobile app gives a single place for the College to deliver a personalized experience for students, visitors, alumni, and faculty and staff in a format that is easily accessible to all users. It provides mobile access to campus news, maps, events, social media and videos, and will give the College another means to communicate emergency messages to students in the events of a campus closure.
The mobile app is integrated with Banner and soon will be integrated with Blackboard to facilitate a personalized student experience. Leveraging student information from Banner, the communication strategy will be targeted and personalized-putting students on the path of success.
App Overview
STLCC Mobile App is running on a platform provided by Modo Labs. It is jointly sponsored by IT and Student Affairs and in partnership with Marketing and Communication. The College is releasing its first mobile application built to support Spring 2021 registration. The first app can be downloaded from the App Store for iPhones or iPads, or from Google Play for Android devices.
STLCC Mobile App Roll-out Timeline
To better serve our students and take advantage of the platform, the mobile app will be rolled out in a phased approach so we can begin utilizing the app for student engagement as soon as possible. Each phase will be focused on specific targeted audience and continue to build on the previous delivered phase and including additional modules and features.
Phase 1
The first phase is focused on potential and current students to allow students to (1) explore the College, (2) apply, and (3) register. Once students are admitted are/or registered, they will be provided with the needed information to keep them engaged. This phase is scheduled to be released on October 27, 2020 and includes two personas: potential students, and current students. It is integrated with Banner to allow student to browse class schedule, register, and view their academic records, holds, and balance. We will also utilize push notifications as a technic to keep both audiences engaged and for campus emergencies, and severe weather.
Phase 2
The second phase will enhance the both student personas by implementing additional features and functionalities per student input and users' feedback to increase student engagement ; and utilize additional push notifications such as Banner messages to increase user interaction and providing up-to-date and urgent information or reminders such as important announcements. During this phase, the app will be expanded to include Alumni, and Faculty and Staff personas to provide them access to needed information and resources. It is scheduled to be delivered by March 31, 2021.
Phase 3
The third phase will continue to build on the second phase and is focused on increasing systems integrations. During this phase, the app will expanded to include add Guests and Community personas to expand our outreach. It is scheduled to be delivered by June 30, 2021.
The app will continue to add services and evolve in both content and functionality by soliciting student input and user feedback. If your department has a mobile use-cases, or wants mobile application support, email us at mobile@stlcc.edu.
