Are you on track to finish high school early? Spend your final high school semester at St. Louis Community College and get a head start on college!

What is Make it Count?

Make It Count students spend second semester of their senior years of high school taking college classes full time. This fully-immersive college experience allows students to get a real college experience, graduating with both a high school diploma and full semester of college credit.

Why Make it Count?

Earn a Full Semester of College Credit

During your Make it Count semester, you’ll earn 12-18 credit hours – a full semester of college credit. This means you’ll start college ahead of the game and save thousands of dollars on college costs!

Best of Both Worlds

With your school's permission, you'll still be able to participate in your high school extracurriculars, sports, and events. Enjoy the best of what your high school and STLCC have to offer!

Credits that Transfer

At STLCC our courses are designed to transfer. So when you move on to another college, you can trust the work you’ve put in will count. Learn more about Missouri's CORE 42 and view the courses that are guaranteed to transfer.

 

Second-semester high school seniors who have:

  • A cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher
  • Already met your high school graduation requirements*
  • Been selected by their high school

*Students with 1-2 outstanding requirements may still participate with high school approval

Most Make It Count programs cost $72.50/credit hour. However, some school districts cover partial or full cost of attendance. Check with your high school counselor to learn more about your school’s program.

  1. Apply and be accepted into your high school’s Make It Count program
  2. Apply to STLCC as a dual enrollment student
  3. Submit:
    1. High school transcripts
    2. ACT scores (if available)
    3. Dual enrollment authorization form
  4. Attend the following events:
    1. Welcome Session (December)
    2. Spring Orientation (January)
