Career & Industry Track Programs for High School Students
EMBARK - Bioscience
Credential: Life Science Lab Assistant Certificate
Offered through Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics
EMBARK is a dual credit/enrollment program created by St. Louis Community College and the Danforth Center, focused on preparing high school students to earn a Life Science Lab Assistant (LSLA) certificate by high school graduation.
Students who graduate from the program are prepared for work in bioscience laboratories and are well positioned to continue on to bioscience and biotechnology 2- and 4-year degrees.
Eligibility Requirements:
- High school sophomores, Juniors, and seniors
- Cumulative, unweighted GPA 2.6+
- Placement in MTH 140s or higher
*Students wishing to begin during senior year must have completed BIO 111 or AP Biology
(Exam score of 3+)

Access Point - Technology Career Path
The Access Point program offers a great opportunity for high school students who are interested in a career in technology.
It provides dual enrollment coursework at STLCC, followed by a paid apprenticeship and job guarantee. It also offers mentorship and connections to community services, as well as connections to companies offering health insurance, 401k, and tuition reimbursement for a bachelor's degree.

To start the application process, a student must reach out to their high school counselor.
Access Point will interview all applicants for the program. High school students who are chosen to participate in the program, students then enroll in STLCC dual enrollment courses.
The Access Point Program continues to support participants after high school graduation, offering HyperCare services throughout their apprenticeship and as they pursue an undergraduate degree.
