Change Your Major
Students may change their major up to the Friday of week 3 for the fall or spring term, and one business day prior to the summer session. For a list of exact deadlines, please refer to the table below. Students are strongly encouraged to work with an academic advisor before changing their major to learn more about the implications. Financial aid only pays for courses needed for the student's current major at St. Louis Community College.
The STLCC Academic Catalog provides information on our program offerings. To determine your major and view the required classes for graduation, please run your Degree Audit.
Only classes that are within a student's declared major are eligible for financial aid funding. To change your major, please follow the instructions listed at the bottom of this webpage.

To change your major:
- Login to Banner Self-Service
- Click the Student Services & Financial Aid tab
- Click Student Records
- Choose Change your Major
Your major will be updated within 1-3 business days. You will be emailed once your major is updated; this email will contain your new major and serves as a confirmation for your records.
