Directory Information
The College is committed to protecting students' rights to privacy in compliance with FERPA. This policy governs access to and release of student records. FERPA defines "directory information" as information contained in the education records of a student that would not generally be considered harmful or an invasion of privacy if disclosed. Directory information may be released for any purpose at the discretion of the College.
STLCC defines directory information to include the following: name, class level, college-issued email address (@my.stlcc.edu), enrollment status (full-time v part-time), division, program of study, dates of enrollment in the College, credential(s) earned, awards conferred, and for athletes, weight/height.
Under the provisions of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974, as amended, you have the right to withhold the disclosure of directory information. Should you decide to inform the College not to release directory information, any future requests for such information from non-institutional persons or organizations will be refused.
